On Patient Care. . .
“My patients and I are a team. We work together: focusing on the problem that brings them to my office, weighing the benefits of the various treatment options, mapping out the long-term goals, and getting to the solution, be it surgical or non-surgical. We work hand in hand. That’s the way we get the problem solved.
I can’t think of anything more satisfying than practicing medicine. It’s a privilege to use the skills I have to help people live a better life–a life that’s active, rewarding, and free of pain.
On Being Part of the MOI Team . . .
“Being able to work with physicians I respect and whose diagnostic and surgical abilities are of the highest level is an invaluable source of support in treating my patients. If one of my patients has a problem outside my area of specialization, I know I have a whole team of people to draw on who are as good at what they do as I am at what I do. That depth of specialization is rare in a community of this size and is one of the aspects that makes MOI so unique.”
On Working in Her Hometown . . .
“It’s so gratifying to be practicing medicine where I grew up. Many of my patients are actually old friends, neighbors, and classmates. And some of my patients are their parents or their children. It is a tremendous experience being able to give something back to the community in which I grew up.
My husband and I love raising our children here. We spend every spare minute with them, and it’s great watching them grow up in a place that has a real sense of family.”
